FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NEW CANADIAN MUSICAL FILM TO SCREEN IN SUPPORT
OF "CRAFTING FOR A CURE"
Bensondale Productions is pleased to announce King of the Camp, an
original Canadian musical feature film, premiering on YTV on May 4,
2008 at 6:00 p.m. This film introduces a cast of all new young Canadian
talent, including Justin Stadnyk, Ashley Carter, Tonya Harper, and
Sef Wood, and features nine original songs by Canadian composers,
along with high-energy choreography. Filmed in Orillia, Ontario this
past summer, King of the Camp is a General rated film appropriate
for all audiences, and embraces the theme of being true to one’s
self.
The story takes place at Camp Wahanowin, where the winner of the Olympiad
will be crowned king and queen of the camp. The conflict between Chase
Gunn, whose family owns the camp, and Will Cross, who works in the
kitchen, becomes the focus of the film, with themes of anti-bullying
and breaking down social barriers prevalent throughout.
